The Importance of Youth Mentorship

Youth Mentoring

Mentoring creates positive impact in the lives of young people. Mentoring helps to create higher rates of high school graduation and results in less better school attendance. this results in increased self-confidence, self-esteem, and more able to create big goals for themselves. IOSW will provide group sessions and also 1-2-1 support for young people with a view to illustrating to them the multitude of options open to them.

Getting back on your feet

Reducing Reoffending

Reoffending rates in the UK and Wales, have been steadily increasing according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Justice. The approximate cost for keeping a prisoner in jail for one year is approximately £40,000, which is a huge amount for the taxpayer. IOSW aim to assist in reducing the reoffending rate which will also have a dramatic knock on effect for society, by turning -£40,000 to a potentially tax paying member of society which has an immediate knock on for funds available for schools, hospitals, etc. The overall cost of reoffending to the taxpayer across England and Wales is £15bn.
